About Us
Each and every one of our cars is a hand built project, employing time served craftsmen. From a basic rolling chassis the car will be finished to the individual client's exact specification.

The majority of our original XK engines, whether 3.4 litre, 3.8 or 4.2 are rebuilt by hand from genuine parts - where they still exist - by experts mechanics who work solely on the Jaguar XK engine. These engines , prepared for XK Evocation and other clients are fast earning a UK and European reputation for meticulous workmanship. Each engine is created to fast road or full race specification.

All engines are assembled at XK dedicated workshops at Sandbach in the heart of Cheshire, where clients are encouraged to make a personal visit, by prior arrangement, to see the rebuilds taking shape. At every stage photographs are supplied for clients living abroad who may find travel difficulties to Cheshire inconvenient.

Each block and cylinder head is crack and pressure tested before assembly and will be built to individual specification such as compression, pistons - machined or hand forged -, cam-shaft lift etc. The finished product will be a gleaming and unique reconstruction - no doubt better than when the original engine left the Brown's Lane factory.

D-Type, the real thing. But an XK evocation is affordable. This is the tail fin of ex-Jaguar works car OKV 1In common with the engines, and for cost considerations there are choices of parts for self-assembly catering from bare to rolling chassis. The choice is yours with a full back up of after-sales service to guide you through a self-build. It is never quite as easy as you think! We will always be at the end of a telephone when a part doesn't quite fit.

Our own in-house builds will be completed to client specification of inboard or outboard rear disc brakes. Bodies can be finished in either maintenance free glass fibre to the genuine article - hand beaten aluminium and even 'original' monocoque tubs in the case of our D-Types. The choice is yours.

Hand-built cars are, by their very nature, expensive. But there are modern methods to create the full flavour of a D or C without breaking the bank. Whatever the project, even knowledgeable enthusiast will be sheepishly asking the question: "Is it real.' If you decide to tell a fib - you will not be caught out.

Finally your hand built car, evoking memories of history and high performance, will be shipped anywhere in the world.

D-Types lining up for historic racing at Oulton PatkXK Evocation have redefined the sporting history of the world beating XK Ds and Cs of 1950's Le Mans endurance fame. With the advantage of modern upgrade features, independent suspension and up-rated brakes our cars perform even better.

To very special order we will even undertake to re-create the car that is accepted as designer Malcolm Sayer's final masterpiece - the legendary XJ13. As with all our cars we will build, bolt for bolt, a motoring legend with electrifying performance.

What is more, correct D, C, and XJ13 replicas are proving to be a significant investment, especially when the real thing will rarely come up at auction with a 'reserve' of less than £ half a million.

The pressure of assembling a group time served craftsmen under one roof makes it almost economically impossible to gather all the experts under one roof. Even if you can find them they tend to work alone jealously guarding the secrets of age-old skills that most modern motor manufacturers have long forgotten.

But with the aid of CAD measurement and a network of engineers, the alternative is to remotely source all the parts and skills necessary to assemble a bolt perfect evocation of the original. It also saves enormously on costs, which can be passed on to the client whether that be for a completed car or to source expert assistance to complete one of our self-build assemblies

C-Type evocation in Ecurie Ecosse coloursUnnecessary overheads have killed off as many great restoration companies as global pressures have killed off car manufacturing. XK Evocation has set its sites on a long term and cost effective future not only for the benefit of our workforce, but for our clients too, by employing computer technology to supplement the necessity of a production line mind set. We aim to be around for a long time producing craftsmen built cars in a throwaway era.

We can therefore produce cars at costs that will inevitably produce an ever-growing investment value. The one factor no-one can control is the inevitable rise in build and material costs. Where original parts of re-engineered the supply is far from limitless. Just casting a steel six-cylinder block will inevitably become prohibitive even if the skills to do the job are preserved. Then we consider the costs of rising prices and raw materials.

XK Evocation has planned for a long-term future creating evocations of cars that have long been the preserve of a rich and privileged few. The only thing we cannot create is history. But for sheer excitement the price of driving an evocation of history in the knowledge that the machine is probably better and mechanically safer than the original is now within range of almost every enthusiast's pocket. History has a habit of creating itself. And if that sound's a little far fetched then just sit in the cockpit of one of C or D-Type Jaguar's and get carried away with the myth and legend.

We will arrange an exciting test drive from serious enquirers either in Cheshire or Mallory Park.
