C-type evocation ready for racing

XK Evocation...the company built and driven by Jaguar D-type and C-type and E-type enthusiasts.

These are the words which introduced our original web site and although they are still very much true, the site itself has evolved into a global hub for information about these iconic British sports and race cars.

Every day our e-mail box reveals queries from all over the world seeking complete cars, spares or identifying craftsmen and engineers who can re-create a replacement panel or spare part which have long since disappeared from Jaguar’s own Coventry workshops.

The thousands of people who regularly visit the www.xkevocation.com site has proved the need for the web site which will evolve into an information hub from where classic Jaguar enthusiasts the world over can source definitive information quickly and reliably.
Jaguar D-Type

For the past fifteen years our team leader, Peter Reece, has dedicated every spare moment to assimilating the sometimes complicated and myth strewn history of the D-type and C-type.

He calls it a hobby - we call it an obsession! But it has led to him creating long standing friendships with people like Norman Dewis, Jaguar’s legendary former Chief Test Engineer, Philip Porter, doyen of the Jaguar historians, Nigel Webb owner of the Mike Hawthorn 1955 Le Mans winning D, Win Percy, Le Mans Jaguar works driver, and Dick Skipworth, custodian of the definitive Ecurie Ecosse race car collection.

They are all men fortunate enough to either own or have driven the real thing!

But in fact it is the XK Evocation team’s creation and racing of D-type  and C-type replicas which opened doors to the specialists who not only keep the ‘real cars’ racing today, but are also happy to share their specialist skills and knowledge.

OK! Norman Dewis refers to Peter’s replica D-type as ‘That old banger.’ But always smiling fondly at the car. (You really should read his book: The Norman Dewis Story. www.paulskilleter.com )

But the upshot is that XK Evocation has gathered a wealth of knowledge at their fingertips, but more important, a knowledge of how to put that information to practical use helping classic Jaguar enthusiasts to keep their own cars on the road.
