1955 Production D-Type Recreation - with FIA Papers (HTP) |
 Two years ago we started with lots of enthusiasm, a good stock of original parts collected over many years and virtually a complete set of detailed drawings. We have painstakingly recreated an exact copy of a 1955 Production D-Type.
Technically and cosmetically, the car is correct in every detail. Where possible either original or correct period parts were rebuilt and used e.g. engine, gearbox, rear axle, wheels, carburettors. Where period parts were not available, remanufactured D-type spares were bought from historic racing specialists e.g. front suspension, dry sump, or the parts were remade to original drawings such as the chassis frame, monocoque and body.
The car has FIA Papers (HTP), is road registered and is in "as new" condition. As such it is eligible for many prestige historic events and would be accepted by HGPCA subject to the organiser's discretion.
