REPLICA JAGUAR XKSS

Perhaps the most famous owner of an XKSS was the late, great, Steve McQueen. If he ever used his car for a 'Great Escape' it isn't recorded. But XK Evocation will allow you to escape into the world of the legendary D-type with the added comforts of a hood and real windscreen wipers! These cars can be constructed in an all GRP body wrapped around a Reynard designed racing chassis, an all aluminium body on the same chassis, or for the purist, an aircraft engineered monocoque and frame. All cars are available in a variety of self-assembly packages or a completed turn-key evocation.

XKSS - Full Build Specification

Chassis

Fully Bracketed space frame chassis designed by Reynard Racing, chassis is shot blasted and then finished in silver epoxy polyester gloss powder coat.

Bodywork

Handcrafted composite panels to include Bonnet with inner wheel arches and flush fit Aluminium Louver Panels, 2 door centre section including Tail section and Boot lid, Engine bay bulkhead is clad using 18g Aluminium.

Engine and Transmission

Jaguar 6 cylinder XJ unit rebuilt to standard specification, engine fitted with rebuilt 2 inch S.U. Carbs (Webber option) and all new/rebuilt ancillaries (starter, alternator, water pump etc).

Modern 5 speed Gearbox, fully stripped and rebuilt including period Gear stick.
Ratios: - 1st 3.28:1 2nd 1.98:1 3rd 1.3:1 4th 1:1 5th 0.82:1

Front and Rear Suspension including Final Drive

Sourced from Jaguar XJ12 / XJS the units are fully stripped, shot blasted and finished in silver, Units are fully re-built using new components and Differential is stripped and re-set. Front suspension rubber bushings are replaced using polyurethane, fully adjustable coil over shock absorbers and front anti roll bar are installed.

Braking System

Balance Bar Braking system to include factory exchange brake callipers, new Discs and up rated Pads.

Fuel System

70 Litre Aluminium baffled Tank to include sender unit, high performance electric fuel pump feeding Carbs and original style 3 ½ inch roller filler cap

External Fittings

Period correct fittings including 5-piece chrome Bumper set, Leather Bonnet Straps and Boot Rack.

Wheels and Tyres

Original Dunlop style wheels to include spare, with dummy 3-eared spinner set fitted with VR rated Tyres.

Interior Trim

Full Leather Upholstery with Wilton quality Carpet to Customers choice of Colour; period correct instrumentation and Steering Wheel and 3-point Seat Belt Harnesses.

Weather Gear

Soft-top to include full support frame and Hood Bag, Aluminium framed Side screens fitted.

Paint Work

Fully prepared Bodywork, pre-baked in oven and finished in 2 pack Acrylic paint to Customers choice of Colour.

Final Finishing

Final re-assembly, set to factory specification (suspension, tyre pressure etc) and test driven for 100 miles, re-check all fixings and adjust as necessary.
